Nutrition

It is important that our young men maintain a proper nutrition routine.  A healthy nutritional lifestyle allows us to receive the full benefits that we train so hard for.  Our players MUST learn to eat breakfast everyday (before workouts, practices, school, etc.)  Eating breakfast keeps our metabolism up and improves our concentration throughout the day.

It is also CRITICAL that our guys eat something within 30 minutes after workouts or practices. This metabolic recovery window is when our muscles are most receptive to nutrients and hormones.  Things to consume:  Water, 1% Chocolate Milk, Sports Drinks, Trail Mix, Cheese Crackers, Peanut Butter Crackers, Honey Packets, Fresh Fruit.

Things to avoid:  Pop, Fried Foods, Fatty Foods, Candy.

Players should drink water throughout the day, even when they are not thirsty.

Sleep is a another vital component of a healthy life.  Athletes should get 7 1/2  to 8 hours of sleep per night.
